Pricing & Appointment Policies

Private Clients

For Private Patients & MHTP Referrals

Our team is open to private referrals, or referrals from a GP or Psychiatrist under a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). Fees vary in accordance with the experience, and expertise of our team members, so please contact us to discuss relevant costs. Rebates may be available for private clients. Clients with a MHTP may be eligible for the Medicare rebate. Alternatively, you may be eligible to claim via private health insurance (please check with your insurer, as rebates vary).

Scheme-Based Clients

ADF, FRNSW, Veterans, NRL, and more…

Actualise Psychology partners with a number of organisations to provide treatment under various schemes including ADF, FRNSW, Veterans, NSW Ambulance, and the NRL (League Ahead & RLPA). If you are referred under an approved scheme, your session fees will be covered by the scheme, and you will not need to make payment for the services. However, some schemes do not cover cancellations <24 hours or sessions that you fail to attend, where this occurs this may result in the cost being passed onto you as the client (please see cancellation policy for details).

Rebates

Rebates may be available for private paying clients via either Medicare or Private Health Insurance.

Medicare: Clients with a MHTP may be eligible for the Medicare rebate. As of June 2025, the Medicare rebate for psychology sessions in Australia is $141.85 / 50 min session for a clinical psychologist, and $96.65 / 50 min session for a registered (Generalist) Psychologist.

There are a few Medicare benefits schemes that may apply with respect to psychology, depending on your specific mental health needs/conditions. The most common of these is Medicare's Better Access initiative. Under this initiative you can claim up to 10 individual psychology sessions per calendar year with a valid referral (MHTP) from a GP or psychiatrist. Initially, a GP, psychiatrist, can refer you for up to 6 sessions, and if needed, they can approve additional sessions after a review.

Health Insurance: If you are not claiming a Medicare rebate, you may be eligible to claim a rebate via your private health insurance (please check with your insurer, as rebates vary).
