Cancellation Policy
General Cancellation Requirements
For all clients, a minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or postpone an appointment. If less than 24 hours' notice is provided, or if you fail to attend a scheduled session without notification, a cancellation fee may apply.
Cancellation Fees and Client Responsibility
Bupa (for Defence or Open Arms clients) or NRL Clients: If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, you or your scheme (Bupa or NRL) may be charged the session cost plus GST.
FRNSW/EML, SIRA/Workcover, NSW Ambulance, & DVA Clients: These schemes do not cover the cost of sessions cancelled within 24 hours or for non-attendance. In such cases, the client is responsible for the full session fee. This policy respects the psychologist's time and acknowledges that when you are allocated an appointment time, that time is not available for another client.
Private Clients: Your securely held credit card details will be charged the full session fee if you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice or fail to attend a scheduled appointment without notifying the practice.
Payment Arrangements by Scheme
The method and responsibility for payment vary depending on how you access psychological services:
ADF/Open Arms/DVA Clients: Payments are handled through contractual agreements between Defence and Bupa or the Department of Veterans Affairs. You are not required to make direct payments.
Workcover/SIRA/CTP Clients: Payments are managed via contractual agreements between Actualise Psychology Pty Ltd and your insurer or Workcover. You are not required to make direct payments.
NRL Clients: Payments are completed via contractual agreements between Actualise Psychology Pty Ltd and the NRL. You are not required to make direct payments.
FRNSW Clients: Payments are completed via contractual arrangements between Actualise Psychology Pty Ltd, FRNSW, and EML. You are not required to make direct payments.
Private Patients or Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) Clients: The consultation cost (typically 50 minutes) will have been discussed at your initial appointment request. If you have an MHTP, you may be eligible for a rebate from Medicare. Alternatively, clients may instead be eligible for a rebate via their private health insurance; please check with your insurer for details. You may only claim via Medicare OR private health, not both concurrently.
